Elder Hampton made it to Argentia

Dear Hampton Family,
We wanted to inform you that your missionary has arrived to our mission, has eaten dinner with us, has been trained, is with his trainer, and today is in his new area. We are very thankful to have him with us, now counting him among the Lord´s messengers. We know that you, like him, will receive great blessings because of his faithful service in this Work.
We advise you to always send uplifting letters to help him and allow him to stay focused on his mission. When sending packages we advise that you do not let him know you are sending the package, because the missionaries become very anxious and the mail system may delay in sending the package.
We have a group on facebook where we put photos of the Zone Conferences and other moments where when we have the opportunity to be together. You can access that group by sending a request with the last name of your missionary. The name of the group is Mision Argentina Salta 2011– 2014.
We appreciate your prayers for this wonderful work of saving the souls of our Heavenly Father.
Cordially,

Elder Hymas|Secretario

Last Day of High School

It's hard to believe that Trevor's last day of High School  is tomorrow. I know, I continue to say the same thing over and over again but it really is crazy how fast time passes by! I feel like it was just a few years ago that Trevor was being potty trained and spent the whole summer with his shorts around his ankles peeing on every tree in sight! Wasn't too long after that summer that I walked outside to see Devin teaching his little brother ride a bike.  A few summers after that, Trevor got his first skateboard and managed to scrape and scar every square in of his body! Skateboarding turned into one short season of soccer and then many years of baseball and football to follow. He has learned to lead and his ability to lighten a stressful situation and make others laugh is truly a gift. He has not only grown in stature the past couple of years but also in his ability to make good choices and lead the people around him! When receiving a hug from Trevor, you can't help but feel the sincerity behind the strength in his arms. It is no coincidence that Trevor was nicknamed "Baby Hercules" at a very young age and the truth to that nickname has manifest its self on so many levels. We are proud of who you are and who you are aspiring to become.

2 Years ~ 730 Days ~ 17,520 Hours ~ 1,051,200 Minutes

Gone... just like that... for 2 Years ~ 730 Days ~ 17,520 Hours ~ 1,051,200 Minutes! How is it that after 20 1/12 year of preparation and dreaming about this exact day, I was not able to prepare myself for the day that Devin would actually leave on his mission? I am not quite sure how any person prepares for the mixed tornado of emotions that I am feeling today! So very excited for Devin to finally be living a very large dream of his own, and extremely happy that he has chosen to serve The Lord for the next two years of his life. On the other end of the spectrum is this over whelming sadness that sweeps through my body thinking about the length of time before I will be able to hug my oldest son again! When I let my thoughts drift selfishly that direction, I have to immediately focus on all the amazing positive experiences Devin will be living the next 730 days of his life.  There is absolutely nothing else in this world that can provide the life lessons, learning experiences and personal growth that a mission can, and it is this very reason that puts a smile on my face and peace in my heart. Then I try to convince myself that 1,051,200 minutes isn't that long........

All Around Amazing

Celebrating "Sweet 16" and a call to serve in Salta, Argentina was grounds for an all around amazing weekend! Natalie does not require much to make her happy nor does she ask much of anyone around her. That's what makes spotlighting her and celebrating her birth day so special. Our family has never been one for throwing big birthday parties. It's not that they aren't important, I just tend to gravitate towards more intimate celebrations, where one on one quality time can be spent. I hope the kids caught on to my theory...instead of feeling neglected all these years! It was fun to mix things up a bit this year and celebrate big for Natalie's "Sweet 16". Grandpa Gibb and the Fox family were here for the weekend and Tyler ended the evening with an amazing piano concert. Simply put, it was magical and the magic continued on to Sunday morning. Devin gave his farewell talk with such confidence and conviction! He talked about trusting in The Lord and how important it is for each of us to be a well sharpened tool ready to help our Heavenly Father with his work. It was as if time stood still for the 20 minutes Devin spoke. The meeting was full of support from friends and family and there was a special reverence felt through the silence as we each listened to his every word. It was a beautiful weekend in all aspects. One that will be remembered forever!
